Who we are

holdmycrown is run by its founder, an individual based in India. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record: it charges you, issues the receipt and handles sales tax. You can reach us at hello@holdmycrown.in.

Floors are paid advertisements

• A floor is a paid advertisement on a public ranking. Your position depends on what other startups pay, so it can change at any moment, including a minute after you pay.
• We don’t promise any position for any length of time, or any visitors, clicks, sign-ups or sales. The rules explain how floors and crowns are ranked.
• Prices are in US dollars. A new floor starts at $2. Dodo Payments may add sales tax.

What you may list

• Only a website you own or are authorised to represent.
• The site must work and must show who runs it: a company or person’s name and a way to contact them.
• You’re responsible for the name, logo, tagline and link you give us, and you confirm you have the right to use them. You let us show them on the tower, on your floor page and in share images for as long as the floor is up.
• Not allowed: anything illegal, scams or misleading offers, malware or phishing, adult content, gambling, weapons, drugs, hate or harassment, impersonating another person or company, and other people’s trademarks used without permission.

We may change a name, logo or tagline that breaks these terms, or take a floor down. A floor removed for breaking these terms isn’t refunded.

Payments, refunds and chargebacks

Payments are final, except as set out on the refund page or where the law gives you a right to a refund. If something went wrong, email us first: we answer every request. Filing a chargeback without contacting us first is a breach of these terms. If a payment is charged back, we take the floor down and may refuse future orders.

The Crown Audit

• The Crown Audit is a fixed-price service ($29): automated checks of your homepage plus a written review by a person. We aim to deliver it within 72 hours of payment as a web page you can save as a PDF.
• To run it, we load the public pages of the site you give us and send its address to Google PageSpeed Insights. Only order an audit of a site you own or represent.
• The audit is our opinion and our measurements on the day. It isn’t legal, security or financial advice, and it doesn’t guarantee any result.
• Audited startups with a floor get a Crown Audited badge. It means an audit was delivered, not that the site passed.

The community

• You need an account to post, comment, vote or review. Keep one account per person.
• You own what you write. You let us show it on holdmycrown and in previews of holdmycrown links, and you can ask us to remove it.
• Reviews must be honest and based on actually using or looking at the product. Don’t review your own startup, a client’s or an employer’s, and never review in exchange for money or favours.
• Don’t manipulate the site: no fake accounts, vote trading, bot clicks, scraping that slows the site, or attacks on it. We may remove content or close accounts that do.

Limits

holdmycrown is provided as it is. We work to keep it running but can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we aren’t liable for lost profits or indirect losses.

Changes and disputes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from then on. These terms are governed by the laws of India. If we can’t settle a dispute by talking, the courts of India have jurisdiction, but this doesn’t take away any rights you have as a consumer where you live.
